Video: "We Were Told To Say Boko Haram Abducted Us, But It's Not True" - One Of The Abducted Boys Confesses
So the official report had it that only about 300 Kankara boys were abducted from the GSSS Katsina State, but aside about 12 that self returned unofficially reported, additional 344 were officially reported to have magically returned/being freed.
However, the 344 students were released to the government of Katsina State on Friday after spending exactly a week in captivity. Nice timing if you ask me.
Following official rumors that the boys were abducted by Boko Haram, recently one of the abducted boys has revealed that Boko Haram were not actually their abductors but rather they were bandits.
One of the 344 students from the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State, has disclosed that they were not kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorist group as earlier stated by the Federal Government.
The student confessed on a live video interview that they were told to say that the were kidnapped by were Boko Haram members.
According to the video when asked if their abductors were bandits or Boko Haram, the student said, “I do not know who they are but I was told to say they’re Boko Haram from the gang of Abu Shekau.”
Asked about his experience, “From what I experienced sincerely they are not Boko Haram.”
Shortly after their release, Bello Matawalle,
The Governor of Zamfara, told newsmen that Fulani apex socio-cultural organisation, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, negotiated and securedthe release of the abducted boys.
This was despite claims by the Boko Haram insurgents that they kidnapped the boys.
In addition, Matawalle also had insisted that there was “nothing like Boko Haram in the abduction, claiming the bandits did it".
