Fire Razes Shops, Rooms In Ilorin
KWARA REPORTERS, has received the news of the fire outbreak that occurred at Baboko, Ilorin at early hours of today, 12th November 2020.
The extent of the inferno, which allegedly occured at the commercial area of Ilorin is yet to be ascertained but according to the information made available by the Kwara State Fire Service, HOD. Media and Publicity, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle said in a building of about 300-rooms, only 10-rooms were affected including 2-shops, due to the promptness and activeness of the able fire officers attended the incident.
"Around 3:58hrs of today, men of State Fire Service was summoned to a fire incident at No.66, Ile Kannike Compound, Baboko Area, Ilorin."
He further said "based on the situation met at the scene ground, the cause of the fire was suspected to be an electric spark in one of the burnt rooms in the building, thereby caused the inferno."
Therefore, the Director of the Kwara State Fire Service command, Alhaji Yakub I Waheed (CFO), urged the general public to be extra careful about their dealings especially during this harmattan period and always try to play safe.
