Tourism Infrastructure Being Repositioned In Kwara State - Adeboye

The convener of a webnair on Kwara Tourism Roundtable, Mr. Michael Adenrele Adeboye has lauded the present administration in the state for its passion to change the narrative in tourism development.

Speaking with newsmen immediately after the successful hosting of the webnair, Adeboye noted with satisfaction that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led government is serious about developing the tourism potentials of the state which is a great departure from what is obtainable in the past.

“This webnair is a result of my passion for tourism and seeing that tourism wasn’t really working in Kwara. I haven’t been interested because all past administrations in the state did not really do anything about tourism in the state. But when this governor came in, Mallam AbdulRahman, the fact that he took tourism as a passion for himself; he went to visit Owufall, Esie Museum and all other important sites made us happy to join in the task of taking our state to the next level,” he said.

Commenting on the inability of the past administrations in the state to develop infrastructure, particularly the road network leading to the various sites, Adeboye applauded Governor AbdulRazaq for changing the narrative.

The lawyer and CEO of Bond Integrated disclosed that the road to Esie Museum is under construction and the Governor is also paying attention to the Owufall which had been abandoned for decades.

Also speaking at the webnair, the state Commissioner for Communication, Mrs. Harriet Adenike Afolabi-Oshatimehin assured that the present administration in the state is passionate about creating jobs for the teeming unemployed youths of the state through tourism.

“This is going to do the state a lot of good, like I said when I was answering one of the questions at the webnair, tourism seem to be the lowest hanging fruit for Kwara state. So if we have the policy in place considering the fact that we are very endowed; we have the people, we have the tourist sites and we have an administration that is ready to work on it.

“We are so blessed I don’t see why this won’t increase the IGR of the state and create more jobs for our teeming youths in that in Kwara state we are experiencing what we call a youth bulge presently.”

KwaraReporters! reports that the webnair on Kwara Tourism Roundtable which had participants from both within and outside the country is organized by Bond Integrated in collaboration with the Kwara state Ministry of Communications with the theme ‘Breaking New Grounds, Exploring Tourism As Growth Driver’.
