Hon Owolabi Razak Joins Sickle Cell Advocacy Walk In Ilorin (Photos)


...Kwara Lawmaker Cautions Against Stigmatisation of People Living With Sickle Cell. 


The Kwara State House of Assembly Member representing Share/Oke-ode constituency and the Chairman House committee on Health and Environments, Hon. Owolabi Razak has joined other concerned kwarans in raising awareness  to combat the scourge of  Sickle Cell Disease in Kwara State.

Hon Owolabi Razak on Saturday joined Damilola Sickle Cell Foundation on a road walk awareness tagged "fun walk with sickle cell", in Ilorin, the State capital of Kwara.


The fun walk aimed at eradicating the prevalence of sickle cell in the State through awareness and sensitisation and the need to abolish discrimination and stigmatisation towards people with sickle cell anemia.

Hon. Owolabi while Speaking after the walk said he felt the pains of people living with SCD and other health conditions in the State who face unimaginable obstacles trying to survive.


His words: "I believe the Kwara State Government and the leadership of the Kwara State House of Assembly will always give all the necessary support to ensure people with SCD and other related health conditions living in Kwara State are treated with no iota of stigmatization and negligence."


He lauded the efforts of the Kwara State First Lady towards awareness and eradication of the sickle cell in the state. He said "Her Excellency, Kwara First Lady, Olufolake Abdulrazaq is also one of the strong voices in the state today, advocating for the eradication of the SCD, with our continual partnership on its advocacy and awareness, I can assure you of a better living for all and sundry in the State."
