Group Commends APC Gubernatorial Candidate, Abdulrahman For Displaying Maturity At IEDPU Program

Abdulrahman Victory Movement (AVM) has commended Kwara State All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for displaying high sense of understanding and maturity even at the height of provocation.

The group in a statement issued in Ilorin and signed by its chairman, Ambassador Yahaya Seriki Gambari said, majority of the people of Kwara State have not misdirected their support by endorsing Alhaji Abdulraham Abdulrasaq ahead of 2019 election.

"What we saw at the palace of the Emir of Ilorin yesterday when Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) had its annual program clearly put the character of those seeking to lead into test. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq showed his mien for tolerance and capacity to deliver good governance; departure from excuses made by the rejected lots.

"While it is a tradition for Dr. Bukola Saraki and his lackeys to convert every occasion to a platform to make excuses for poor performance in offices after 15 years of gaining such trust- Saraki like the previous years stayed away yesterday.

"In 2017, at the IEDPU 52nd annual event, Kawu Baraje who represented Dr. Bukola Saraki, requested that on the orders of Saraki, every failure in economy, infrastructure and depreciation in human capital be blamed on Saraki. The audio went viral. He was about making case for fresh support for the coming elections when the audience started booing him.

"Just yesterday morning Saraki was busy criss crossing radio stations in the state laying lame excuses for his inefficiency in office and at the same time blaming those that have been entrusted with responsibilities in his camp in the recent time for the underdevelopment of our state.

"In all of this Abdulrahman remains a tall man with his character standing straight up. Bequeate to him by his parents is the culture of community service and respect for places of honour not only in Ilorin but all over the world.

"Unfortunately, those that have turned mosques, palaces and radio stations to places of reeling out excuses prevented IEDPU from enjoying many of its illustrious and dedicated sons yesterday, including Alhaji Abdulraham Abdulrasaq.

"However, we are encouraged by the wide acceptability that our party and candidates have been enjoying. We are confident of victory ahead of the polls in 2019." he submitted.

It will be recalled that at the 53rd Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) annual event on Tuesday, some loyalists of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki in a uniform (Aso Obi) became agitated when APC gubernatorial candidate, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq was to make his speech. The unruly loyalists eventually disrupted the event.

There have been repeated calls on the security agencies in the state to bring perpetrators of that uncivilized behaviours to book.
