UPDATES: Late Justice Mustapha Akanbi Burial (Photos)


The departure of the pioneer ICPC Chairman and former Chief Justice, Court of Appeal, Justice Mustapha Akanbi, has been received with heavy hearts by all and sundry at the emirates, kwara, Nigeria, Africa and the world at large.

According to our correspondent, Abdulhafeez T. Oyewole, who gather the report have it that many high and might registered their condolence, praying that Almighty Allah grants the incorruptible justice eternal rest and grants the people he left behind the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

In her condolence, Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria, Ibadan, Oyo state described Justice Akanbi as their own, prayed that "Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant baba Aljanah Fridaus."

Also condoling, The Muslim Congress (TMC), Kwara state Branch, represented its National Headquarters to "express acceptance of Allah's decision, praying humbly to Allah to forgive our beloved father and accept his deeds."

National Publicity Secretary of Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) and past Chairman of the Kwara State Chapter of the Association, Col. Oladele Babajamu, described Baba as a good man, and prayed the good Lord continue to rest his gentle soul.

AbdulAzeez Yinka Oniyangi in his condolence described Justice Mustapha Akanbi as a great man of our time and prayed for the family, "May God give him eternal rest and the family he left behind the strength to bear the great pain".

Wakili Ilorin and Founder of Mustapha Akanbi Foundation, Justice Mustapha Akanbi, joined his ancestors earlier today after a brief illness at the age 85 in a private hospital in Ilorin.

His Janaza prayer officiated by Chief Imam, Ilorin, Imam Muhammad Bashir came up this afternoon at his residence: House Number 6, Agaba dam street, off Ahmadu Bello Way, G.R.A, Ilorin, while according to his family, his Fidau prayer is scheduled to hold on Sunday, 10th of June, 2018.

Some dignitaries at the gathering include but not limited to the Executive Governor of Kwara state, Dr. AbdulFatai Ahmad, Prof. Isiaq Oloyede, Prof Suleiman Age AbdulKareem, Prof. AbdulRasheed Na'Allah, Prof AbdulRaheem Oba, Dr. Amuda Aluko and Mal. Yusuf Olaolu Ali.

Many religion scholars were also present.
